| Benzoin Absolute Odor: characteristic Use: Benzoin absolute is a bit of a confusing subject as all benzoin material is solvent extracted so technically speaking maybe we should offer the two benzoin variants found in the resinoid section as absolutes. The reason why we don’t and what sets this material apart from the other two we offer is the quality of the solvent used. In this instance a far more nature identical solvent is used where as with the other two materials, cheaper solvents are used and then the material is diluted down in DPG (20% and 50%) to make both materials pourable and easy to work with. Benzoin absolute has a solid crystal texture and this material is supplied in 30ml glass jars. |

| Benzoin Absolute Sumatra Odor: Floral Balsamic Woody Use: Benzoin is a resinoid gum coming from styrax trees. When the fruit is ripe and the leaves are about to fall, the bark is incised thus forming small pockets which permits the exuded gum tears to be collected. Benzoin essence is often found as a base note in various fragrances due to its sweet and warm smell. |
