Vanilla Oleoresin Odor: characteristic Use: Joseph Colbourne has this to say about Vanilla Oleoresin “This thick, mahogany-brown oleoresin from Madagascar is Vanilla in Technicolor. Its more than merely opening a jar of whole vanilla beans and experiencing its wafting aroma. It is delicious, mouth-watering, like the richest, most indulgent confectioneries, like vanilla truffles filled with ganache and liqueur. What a sinfully intoxicating treat. As it dries down, the oleoresin evolves into nuttier, toastier, almost savory base, still tasty and smooth. It has moderate longevity, six to eight hours on the mouillette, and may be effective in rounding out the aromas of florals and spices, gourmand accords, amber bases, and numerous blends where a vanilla note would be a welcome addition.” |
