Orris Absolute Odor: Woody Fruity Green Use: The word "orris" comes from the Greek "Iris", a messenger of the gods in the Egyptian mythology appearing as a rainbow to deliver divine messages to men. This name was given to the flower for its various colour shades. Orris extract is one of the most expensive materials in the industry and is mainly used in fine fragrance products or red fruits flavours. The rhizomes are grown during three years after which they are collected and dried for another three year period before being processed to obtain the precious extract. |
