Connect Chemicals
Dimethylcarbonate (DMC)
Odor: characteristic
Use: Dimethyl Carbonate (DMC) is used in chemical synthesis as methylating, carbonylating, methoxylating and metholating agent. DMC can be used as VOC exempt solvent in many paints and coatings. It is a fast evaporating polar solvent and can replace esters, glycol ethers and ketones (like methyl ethyl ketone, MEK) in formulations. DMC is also used in the replacement of phosgene, dimethyl sulphate and methyl chloroformate.
